Crochet Button Up Headband Pattern
One of the biggest issues I touched upon in my last headband pattern,
was the utter havoc hats do to your hair, and headbands really aren't
much better!
The amount of times I've spent a significant amount of time getting ready to go somewhere or meet someone, you do your makeup to perfection, spend hours getting your hair to sit right, then you go to put on that headband you wanted to wear because it matches your outfit and BOOM! all hard work out the window if you don't get it right the first time -throws teenage tantrum-.
But fear not! this handy little pattern solves the problem those pesky headbands cause!
How about a headband you can place on your head, adjust to your liking and play around with it WITHOUT wrecking your hair? sound good? how about a headband you can button up?
Using a 4.0 mm hook
Ch 4
Row 1: hdc in second ch from hook and into every ch to the end of the row, ch 1 & turn (3)
Row 2: 2 hdc in first hdc, 1 hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc, ch 1 & turn (5)
Row 3: 2 hdc in first hdc, 1 hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc, ch 1 & turn (7)
Row 4: 2 hdc in first hdc, 1 hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc, ch 1 & turn (9)
Row 5: 1 hdc in each hdc to the end of the row, ch 1 & turn (9)
Row 6-29 (or however many rows to fit round your head): 1 hdc in the Back Loop of each hdc to the end of the row, ch 1 & turn (9)
Row 30: 1 hdc in each hdc to the end of the row, ch 1 & turn (9)
Row 31: sc2tog, 1 hdc in next 5 hdc, sc2tog, ch 1 & turn (7)
Row 32: sc2tog, 1 hdc in next 3 hdc, sc2tog, ch 1 & turn (5)
Row 33: sl st into first hdc, ch 3, sl st into last hdc, ch 1 & turn (5)
(the ch 3 space makes the hole for the button)
Row 34: 3 hdc into the ch 3 space.
Finish off and weave in ends
Sew a big button onto the other end of the band
And you're done :)
You can easily do the button up wherever you like, for instance, for a plain headband just do it up behind your head, personally I think having the button showing is a nice little touch and can look really special if you use a lovely decorative button.
